Madness and Mystery of death are the main themes of the plot. Young Hamlet returns home from university to discover that not only is his father (Old Hamlet) died, but that his mother, Gertrude, has married Old Hamlet's brother, Claudius, and that Claudius is now king. The resultant instability has also led to threats of invasion by a solider from a neighbouring state, Fortinbras.

Many people believe William Shakespeare, the best British writer of all times. His many works are about life, love, death, revenge, grief, jealousy, murder, magic and mystery. Wrote a series of plays- some of his most famous are Macbeth, Romeo and Juliet, and none the less, Hamlet. It has been almost 400 years since he died, but people still celebrate his work all around the world.
